back to North Iowa for the 2009 Annual Convention.
The Convention and
Visitors Bureau has compiled information below for your convenience.

in Mason City / Clear Lake |

There are over 1,100 hotel rooms in Mason City and
Clear Lake Iowa - almost all of them are within 10 to 15 minutes from
the site. 700 hotel rooms have been blocked for PGI
members. To access this room block, members are
requested to contact the hotel using the hotel’s direct number and
inform the reservationist you are a member of the Pyrotechnic Guild
International.
As of June 30, 2009 the following lodging
facilities have rooms available in the PGI room
block which can only be accessed by PGI members:

| What’s New! – Much has changed since PGI’s last
visit in 2005 while many of the “favorite” items have remained the
same. Here are a few of the changes in the area awaiting PGI
members: |

|
North Iowa Fair Facility has added
NEW locker room facilities in the arena featuring: new restrooms and 2
shower stalls for the women and 9 shower heads for the men.

A casino is now located only 20
minutes from Mason City / Clear Lake – Diamond Jo Casino is a 60,000
sq. ft. facility with an exterior resembling a gristmill.
Features over 900 reel and video slot machines, craps, black jack,
roulette, pai gow poker and more.

Campground reservations are now
accepted at the Clear Lake State Park and McIntosh Woods State Park as
early as 3 months in advance and up to 2 days prior to the arrival date
of the camper. Customers may reserve a specific campsite(s) if they are
available.

|
Mason City MacNider Campground is
receiving $1.8 million of renovations. The project includes
construction of a safe room / bath house to provide protection for up
to 370 people, a new office / camp store, pads for larger campers, an
electrical system update, improvement of water and sewer hookups, and
resurfacing of park roads. The safe room / bath house will feature
showers, restrooms and laundry service.
