John Mueller's Winter Dance Party
Description
The Winter Dance Party is an annual tribute to Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valens, and JP “The Big Bopper” Richardson, who played their last concert at the Surf Ballroom on Feb. 2, 1959. Thousands of fans flock to the Surf Ballroom to celebrate the lives and legacies of these three rock ‘n’ roll legends lost too soon. Thursday’s lineup includes John Mueller's “Winter Dance Party”®, the official live re-creation of Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valens, and the Big Bopper’s final tour, and the only show endorsed by the Holly, Valens, and Richardson estates. Each performance delivers over two hours of high-energy entertainment, featuring timeless hits like “That’ll Be The Day,” “Peggy Sue,” “La Bamba,” and “Chantilly Lace.” Mueller, who formerly starred in the U.S. touring version of "Buddy...the Buddy Holly Story", performs as Buddy Holly, while Linwood Sasser portrays the Big Bopper and Ray Anthony takes on Ritchie Valens. Backed by an authentic four-piece band, this tribute to rock and roll’s golden era captivates audiences across the country. Tickets and seating reservations can be purchases online at www.surfballroom.com or by phone at 641-357-6151. All tickets for the event are non-refundable.
