Artist's Talk: Janel Garza
Expressing harmony, balance ad interconnectedness, Janel Gaza’s beautiful paintings, textiles and murals invite visual exploration. Beyond the surface of her fascinating compositions of shapes, colors and lines, she interprets the geometric underpinnings of the natural world and abstractly reveals the complexities of humanity. Highly ordered and symmetrical, her work also incorporates physical, ecological and therapeutic traits from her studies of the environment and medicinal plants.
Janel’s approach to design parallels Frank Lloyd Wright’s philosophy of Organic Architecture. Wright’s buildings were abstractions of nature, and as such they were in harmony with the natural world and the human spirit, fostering connection and well-being.
Janel Garza is a native Arizona artist who will give an Artist’s Talk on Saturday, August 8th, starting at 4 PM at the Robert E. McCoy Architectural Interpretive Center. This program is open to the public and made possible by Art Farm Iowa.
