History

Founded in 1985

Originally opened on May 23, 1985, the theater was brought back to life and reopened on May 16, 2026 with a special celebration and free screening of  of the 1984 classic Footloose — a fitting throwback to the era when the original cinema first welcomed moviegoers.

The reopening of the theater marks another exciting step forward for Downtown Mason City and the continued revitalization of Southbridge Mall as a community gathering space and entertainment destination.
