The exhibit VISIONS & VERSES: The Paintings of Dan Bern showcases a collection of artworks by the renowned singer-songwriter and painter. Known for his sharp wit and storytelling in music, Bern brings a similar expressive energy to his artwork, blending bold colors, dynamic brushstrokes, and a raw, almost folk-art sensibility. The paintings range from vivid portraits of cultural icons to surreal landscapes and abstract compositions, each infused with a narrative depth that invites the viewer into Bern’s uniquely imaginative world. The exhibit highlights his ability to merge music and visual art, often incorporating lyrical elements into the works, creating a dialogue between mediums. 

ABOUT DAN: Dan Bern is an American guitarist, singer, songwriter, novelist, and painter. His music has been compared to that of Bob Dylan, Woody Guthrie, Bruce Springsteen, and Elvis Costello. He is a prolific composer, having written over one thousand songs. Bern describes his music as “undefinable by genre, crossing over and through folk, rock, singer songwriter, and kids' music" with sardonic, literary lyrics. He has toured with Ani DiFranco, The Who, and Roger Daltrey.
