Christmas by the Lake

Welcome to the Award-Winning “Christmas by the Lake” in Clear Lake Iowa!  Celebrate the holiday spirit at Clear Lake’s Christmas by the Lake event, a holiday festival that’s won several regional and statewide awards. Spanning the first weekend in December, this family-friendly festival promises a fun-filled variety of activities for all ages. Come to Clear Lake and create cherished holiday memories with your loved ones.

·         Thursday – December 4^th at 5:30 PM:  Kick off the festivities with One Vision’s 11th Annual Lights on 5K Run/Walk at One Vision’s Kinney-Lindstom Center.  Dress in festive costumes and lights!

·         Thursday – December 4^th at 5:45 PM:  Candy Cane Fun Run – Also at One Vision’s Kinney-Lindstrom Center, kiddos will have a chance to run with Santa & Mrs. Claus!

·         Friday – December 5^th at 5:30 PM:  Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony at Clear Lake City Park Bandshell

·         Saturday – December 6^th:  Saturday is full of amazing activities to take part in starting at 7:30 AM with Breakfast with Santa at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church & ending the evening with the Lighted Parade and Spectacular Fireworks Finale at 5:07 PM!  Throughout the day, you will have the opportunity to shop, take a carriage ride, go to a petty zoo, ride a pony, make a card, sing Karaoke, listen to live music, attend a prince & princess party, take photos with the Grinch and Cindy Lou Who, play BINGO, see the balloon artist, visit Santa and of course enjoy many food & drink opportunities to keep you warm & toasty inside! 

·         Sunday – December 7^th:  Watch “The Grinch” at Lake Theatre for the Family Matinee at 11 AM or if you dare… take part in the Polar Bear Plunge from 10:30 to 1:30 PM!  Santa’s House will be open in City Park from 1 PM to 4 PM so you can tell Santa exactly what your heart is hoping for this Christmas!
