WOMEN'S CLINIC + GROUP RIDE

Start here. Build confidence. Ride Prairie Rock Trails.

New to mountain biking or ready to get more comfortable on the trail? This beginner-friendly women’s mountain bike clinic is designed for first-time and newer riders who want a supportive, low-pressure way to learn the basics and gain confidence.

The clinic will include on-trail instruction and real trail experience at Prairie Rock Trails. Riders will work on fundamentals like body position, braking, shifting, cornering, riding over small features, and choosing good lines. The goal is to help you feel more comfortable, capable, and excited to keep riding.

This is a welcoming clinic for women ages 16 and up. No pressure, no intimidation, just good instruction, encouragement, and time on the bike.

LEGACY TRAIL XC GROUP RIDE

Where it all began. Backwoods roots. Original trails.

Step into the origins of Prairie Rock Trails with the Legacy Trail XC Group Ride—a true cross-country experience that winds through the wooded, singletrack sections that started it all. This ride is designed for those with prior mountain biking experience who are ready to explore the more natural, backcountry feel of the trail system.

Riders can expect a moderate overall pace, with select segments offering the opportunity to open it up and ride fast. The terrain features primarily singletrack trails, with a mix of flow, technical features, and classic XC riding.

  • Duration: 90 minutes
  • Skill Level: Intermediate to Advanced (mountain bike experience required)

MTB TOUR GROUP RIDE

Explore what's new. Ride what's next.

Take a guided tour of the newest additions to Prairie Rock Trails with the MTB Tour Group Ride—a progressive ride designed to showcase the evolution of the trail system. From the original builds to the latest professionally crafted features, this ride highlights the growth and momentum behind Mason City’s premier riding destination.

The tour begins at Zerble Trailhead, riding through trails built by Backyard Trails LLC (2021) before connecting into the newest trail segments constructed by Rock Solid Contracting (2024). The route is designed as a linear progression, guiding riders through key trail sections—while also encouraging riders to stop, session features, and fully experience the terrain.

Expect a mix of flow, technical elements, and purpose-built features that define modern trail design.

  • Duration: 90 minutes
  • Skill Level: Intermediate to Advanced (mountain bike experience required)
